3t was proud to participate in the OEUK parliamentary drop‑in session at the Scottish Parliament on 12 February, where industry representatives and MSPs came together to discuss the future of Scotland’s energy landscape.
3t Training Services UK Managing Director, Jamie Purves, attended the session, using the opportunity to underline how essential workforce skills, training and capability development are in building a resilient, homegrown energy future.
“It was a valuable chance to share how we’re supporting the sector with the skills and training needed to strengthen clients workforce and individuals for what’s ahead,” Jamie said following the event.
“There are 128,400 people employed in the offshore energy sector in Scotland alone and the conversations with MSPs underlined the importance of investing in the workforce as we navigate both current pressures and future opportunities across Scotland’s energy supply chain.”
The drop‑in, sponsored by Douglas Lumsden MSP and hosted by OEUK, brought together stakeholders at a decisive moment for energy policy and on the day that OEUK launched their Scotland Manifesto 2026. Discussions explored energy security, the resilience of the supply chain, and how Scotland can develop the skilled workforce needed for today’s operations and the evolution to a low‑carbon future.
For 3t, the session offered a moment to share how our teams are strengthening skills across Scotland through world-class training, simulation and technology‑led learning – as well as highlighting apprenticeships and routes to funded training being unlocked to support more workers with upskilling and reskilling. These efforts are shaped by 3t’s commitment to safe, effective and future‑ready performance in the energy sector.
3t extends its thanks to OEUK for facilitating a constructive and collaborative forum for industry and government engagement.
