Face Fit Testing should be carried out on all respiratory protective equipment that is required to be worn in harmful environments. With quantitative face fit testing, specialised equipment is used to ensure that the particular face mask worn by a particular individual has a tight seal and is correctly fitted to the wearer. The test is carried out under a number of controlled exercises to demonstrate the level of performance of the mask giving a more stringent pass or fail.

Prerequisites
1 hour before your appointment:
- No eating or drinking (except plain still water)
- No smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, or chewing gum
- Face Fit Testing contains a number of moderate exercises, therefor personnel undergoing testing are required to be medically fit.
You must be clean shaven on the day of your face fit test, with no stubble. Stubble has been shown to significantly reduce the effectiveness of the test; therefore, if facial hair is present on arrival, the test may not be able to go ahead.
